Technical Development
Turning an approved design into a production-ready garment takes more than a sketch and a good idea. Technical Development focuses on the information and structure your product needs to move through sampling and into manufacture without unnecessary confusion, rework, or guesswork.
This service is for founders who are ready to move beyond concept and want cleaner, more organized documentation to support development partners and factories.
Who this is for
Technical Development is a good fit if you:
Already have a clear design direction or collection concept
Are preparing to work with a sample room or manufacturer
Know you need tech packs, patterns, or stronger specifications
Want fewer surprises and miscommunications as your product moves through sampling
You do not need a huge team or a finished brand to benefit from this. You just need garments that are ready to be translated into technical language and documentation.
This is a great option if you need…
-
Technical documents translate your creative vision into language and structure that development teams can use, reducing misinterpretation and back-and-forth.
-
When factories have accurate information, there is less room for preventable mistakes. That saves time, budget, and energy during sampling and production.
-
Strong technical materials make it easier to track changes, refine fit, and stay aligned as your garments evolve from first sample to final production.
-
Once your documentation is in place, it becomes much easier to revisit styles, expand your range, or onboard new partners without starting from scratch every time.
How it works
01. Project Intake
Complete the intake form with your brand details, current stage, and what you need help with most.
02. Scope and fit review
I review your information and confirm that Technical Development is the right next step for your project, then outline recommended scope and pricing.
03. Technical development work
We work through flats, tech packs, patterns, and specifications for the agreed styles. You will see progress and can provide feedback as needed.
04. Sampling and refinement support
As you move into sampling, we update documentation where necessary and clarify any new decisions.
05. Final handoff
You receive organized technical files and documentation ready to share with your sample room, manufacturer, or development partners.
What you get
Technical Development starts at $1,400 for one style. Additional styles are quoted based on complexity and the level of documentation and pattern support required..
Deliverables for one style
Typical Technical Development projects may include:
Technical flats for each style
Full tech packs per style with measurements, bill of materials (BOMs), trims, and construction notes
Digital pattern files (when included in scope)
A consolidated folder or document that organizes all files for sampling and manufacturer handoff
Before we begin, we will confirm which styles are included and exactly which deliverables you will receive, so you know what to expect.
